For sale antique Chinese Blue & white porcelain bowl, dish, plate. Dating circa 1500's to 1600's. The body hand painted with floral motive against a white ground. In good condition, considering age , some imperfections from the kiln.
Flaking glaze around the edge, small hairline - see last image. Size: 8" diameter, 1 1/4" high. Very detailed and delicate cobalt blue painting on this porcelain dish.
It is amazing how accurate they could get with the blue. The glaze feel thick, smooth and shiny. The white glaze has a slight bluish cast.
Under glaze blue is used and varies in shading and depth, and has a nice soft blue color.
