Antique Chinese Kangxi Blue & white Porcelain Prunus ginger jar 1796 Chia-Ching

For sale impressive antique Chinese Blue & white porcelain ginger jar with cover. Qing dynasty , CHIA - CHING. The globular body hand painted with Prunus limbs braching at angles & extending slender shoots. Of new growth bearing clusters of buds & blossoms all against a bright cobalt- blue ground. The flat top cover similarly decorated.

In great condition, no damage, no repairs. Large Size: 9" in diameter, 11" high. ALMOST IDENTICAL JAR (smaller size: 8 7/8 high). Very detailed and delicate cobalt blue painting on this porcelain jar.

It is amazing how accurate they could get with the blue. The glaze feel thick, smooth and shiny. The white glaze has a slight bluish cast. Under glaze blue is used and varies in shading and depth, and has a nice soft blue color. It has a nice weight and feels solid, and rests level on its foot ring, which has a nice smooth feel.

Definitely a quality piece produced with much expertise. A well-made and decorated old piece of porcelain.
