15 French Fashion Doll Repro HURET by Mary Ann Shandor. Gown by Jackie Chimpky

Signed doll by Mary Ann Shandor. See photo 5 (back of head) for her initials. I do not know the date. Doll is in perfect condition.

Head is unglazed with painted eyes. Pierced ears with blue glass earrings. Body is a Dollspart jointed resin.

Her gown and hat were made by renowned doll artist and costumer: Jackie Chimpky. It was created from a kit for a workshop by Carmel Doll Shop, including the silk fabrics that were custom created for this garment. The outfit is named "Palais Royale" and is an enfantine style ensemble based upon an authentic Huret design. This exclusive reproduction pattern was created by well known doll costume designer: Louise Hedrick!

It is my understanding this kit is no longer available. The design features an underskirt of stiff crinoline with a dark blue ruffle that peeks from beneath the plaid and floral patterned overskirt. Jackie handmade the garment to professional perfection. The dress includes perfectly matched plaid, cartridge pleating and fine bias binding on the lined bodice.

It has both machine and handsewn stitching. It fastens in the back with hooks and handsewn thread eyes. The lined straw porkpie hat is trimmed with decorative soutache braid, beads and feathers. Having it made by Jackie Chimpky makes it a one of a kind treasure.
