Overview: x We are pleased to offer this exquisite Ming Dynasty Chinese Porcelain'Wanli' Vase, beautifully decorated in washes of underglaze cobalt blue on a white ground. Imperial Chinese porcelain of this type were used by Chinese literati and scholar officials, produced of the finest quality, reflecting the Imperial taste and marked with the name of the emperor and dynasty at the base.

The Vase is of circular form with slightly curved globular walls, with a short collar, rounded rim and recessed foot, decorated in underglazed cobalt blue in a continuous scene of a pair of auspicious phoenix, swooping down amongst a pair of ferocious five-toe dragons in rampant pursuit of flaming pearls. A lavish design of formal key patterns borders the rim, with a'Ruyi' design of Lotus petals accenting the shoulder and the base of the vase, all hand-painted in underglazed washes of cobalt blue. An amazing Vase delicately created in traditional Chinese taste, with smoothly potted walls, beautifully contoured body having a short neck, rounded shoulders tapering down to the base, with a recessed foot. The intricately painted decorations are heavily-glazed with rich cobalt blue tones. NOTE: THE VASE WAS AUTHENICATED BY A MUSEUM CURATOR IN THE FIELD OF ASIAN ANTIQUES.
