Large Chinese Blue And White Gu Vase Kangxi Period Mark

The exterior is decorated in blue and white with courtly figures in scenic medallions, meandering spiral banding, and florals. Marked on bottom with Kangxi six character reign mark in blue under glaze. Extensive hand painted decoration depicting stylised flowers and vines with washes of figures both Elder and Child in landscapes ranging from waters to land. The piece has good quality porcelain looking at the foot rim you see the Kangxi classic center glaze and a raised foot the potting of the foot is amazing with the outer ledge extended slightly wider then most. Condition generally excellent for age, light surface wear in a few areas (images give good idea) collection ready no chips or cracks are visible. In our opinion there is a strong belief that this piece is of the 19th Century according to the mark and foot rim, but as we all know many pieces were marked to celebrate a specific period before current therefore making it very hard at times to date a certain piece.
